Becky Cassie is a strategic leader in health system transformation, currently serving as National Manager Improvement and Performance at Health New Zealand. She brings deep expertise in performance, equity, and data-driven improvement, and has led national initiatives across the NPHS.In her current role, Becky has driven significant value through the development of analytics-ready data pipelines, standardised reporting frameworks, and strategic planning processes. Her leadership has enabled teams to reduce manual processing time, improve data confidence, and unlock analyst capacity for higher-value work. Becky’s work has been instrumental in shaping the national immunisation data strategy, supporting cross-directorate collaboration, and ensuring that public health data is both actionable and secure.
Before joining the public health sector, Becky held senior roles at Xero, where she led cross-functional product and analytics teams. As Product Insights & Analytics Manager and later Senior Product Manager, she drove the strategy and delivery of consistent communications across digital channels, championed data literacy, and built high-performing teams. Her work included decisioning engines, orchestration, and machine learning, and she played a key role in shaping product OKRs and scaling analytics support across multiple portfolios.
Becky is known for her collaborative leadership style, strategic clarity, and ability to bridge data, design, and delivery to drive meaningful change. At the heart of Becky’s work is a drive to empower teams, streamline processes, and deliver meaningful insights that improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders.
